Position Overview

August Customs is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vinyl & PPF Installer to join our high-performance team in Kelowna, BC. The ideal candidate takes pride in precision workmanship, thrives in a fast-paced luxury automotive environment, and is committed to delivering a premium customer experience across paint protection film and vinyl wrap services.

Key Responsibilities

Vinyl Wrap Installation

  • Install color change wraps, accent pieces, decals, and custom vinyl graphics
  • Properly stretch, conform, and post-heat vinyl to ensure durability and longevity
  • Perform precise trimming and finishing around edges, seams, badges, and complex panels
  • Assist with vinyl design layouts, panel planning, and removal when required

Paint Protection Film (PPF) Installation

  • Prepare vehicles for PPF installation, including washing, decontaminating, and inspecting surfaces
  • Install full and partial PPF kits using both bulk installations and pre-cut patterns
  • Ensure proper alignment, trimming, wrapping, and finishing of film edges
  • Identify and correct installation issues such as bubbles, lift lines, stretch marks, and contamination
  • Maintain a clean, dust-free installation environment to achieve top-tier results

Vehicle Preparation & Quality Control

  • Inspect vehicles upon arrival and prior to delivery
  • Communicate any existing damage or concerns to the service manager
  • Perform post-installation inspections to ensure all PPF and vinyl meets August Customs’ quality standards
  • Assist with additional services such as window tint or ceramic coatings as needed

Customer Service & Communication

  • Maintain professional communication with service advisors, management, and technicians
  • Support customer education on proper care and maintenance of PPF and vinyl wraps
  • Represent the August Customs brand with professionalism at all times

Shop & Equipment Maintenance

  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and installation bays
  • Ensure tools, plotters, heat guns, and installation equipment are properly maintained
  • Assist with inventory management of film rolls, vinyl, blades, squeegees, and installation chemicals

Qualifications & Experience

  • 1–3+ years of hands-on experience installing PPF and/or vinyl wraps (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of film behavior, stretch, tack points, and proper installation techniques
  • Experience working with high-end, luxury, and exotic vehicles is an asset
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of precision and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment
  • Valid BC driver’s license with a clean driving record

Position Overview

August Customs is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Car & Marine Audio Technician to join our team in Kelowna, BC. This role involves the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of premium audio, video, and electronic systems in cars, boats, and recreational vehicles. The ideal candidate possesses a genuine passion for audio technology, sharp technical instincts, and an unwavering commitment to high-quality workmanship and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Precision Installation & Integration

  • Configure car and marine audio systems including speakers, amplifiers, subwoofers, head units, and seamless Bluetooth integration
  • Seamlessly integrate aftermarket A/V equipment with existing factory systems
  • Perform expert wiring and fabrication for dashboards, panels, and specialized enclosures

Marine Specialization

  • Set up entertainment systems utilizing weatherproofing and corrosion-resistant solutions tailored for the marine environment
  • Assist with lighting, GPS, radar, and other electronic installations in marine applications as needed

Diagnostics & Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot and repair complex systems, wiring, or component failures
  • Accurately read and interpret complex wiring diagrams and schematics

Customer Service & Communication

  • Provide exceptional service by educating clients on their new system’s features and functionality

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in car or marine audio installation (or equivalent certified training)
  • Deep understanding of 12V electrical systems and the use of diagnostic tools
  • Experience with fiberglass work, enclosure building, or custom fabrication is highly desirable
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret complex wiring diagrams and schematics

This is a high-calibre technical role in a shop built around precision and performance — the optimal candidate takes pride in their craft, thrives on complex diagnostic challenges, and holds themselves to a standard that matches the vehicles they work on.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnostics & Fault Analysis

  • Perform thorough electronic and mechanical diagnostics using OEM and professional-grade scan tools across a wide range of makes and models
  • Accurately identify root causes of complex or intermittent faults and communicate findings clearly to the Service Advisor team
  • Complete multi-point inspections and pre-purchase assessments with detailed, client-ready documentation

Repair & Maintenance

  • Execute a full spectrum of mechanical and electrical repairs including engine, transmission, drivetrain, suspension, braking, and climate systems
  • Perform scheduled maintenance services in accordance with manufacturer specifications and timelines
  • Carry out alignments, tire services, and wheel fitment with precision
  • Service and repair diesel engine systems including fuel delivery, emissions components, and forced induction

Performance & Modification Work

  • Install and configure performance upgrades including suspension components, exhaust systems, intakes, and supporting bolt-on modifications
  • Support the team on modification and build projects, maintaining quality and accuracy throughout

Workplace Standards & Documentation

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation and bay in accordance with shop standards
  • Complete repair orders with accurate, detailed labour and parts documentation
  • Communicate proactively with Service Advisors regarding repair status, additional findings, and parts requirements
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and manufacturer procedures

Qualifications & Experience

  • Valid BC Journeyman Automotive Service Technician certification or Interprovincial Red Seal equivalent required
  • Experience with European marques (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, Volkswagen, Volvo, or similar) is strongly preferred
  • Experience with import vehicles and/or diesel trucks (light and/or heavy duty) is a strong asset
  • Proficiency with professional diagnostic platforms (ISTA, PIWIS, XENTRY/DAS, VCDS, or equivalent) is preferred
  • Comprehensive personal tool set required
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract required

This is a pivotal, client-facing role at the heart of our service operation — the optimal candidate is detail-oriented, composed under pressure, and deeply committed to delivering a premium ownership experience.

Key Responsibilities

Client Communication & Service Writing

  • Greet clients professionally and conduct thorough vehicle walkarounds to document concerns and pre-existing conditions
  • Open, manage, and close repair orders accurately using dealer management software
  • Communicate repair timelines, cost estimates, and vehicle status updates to clients throughout the service process
  • Obtain necessary approvals for recommended or additional work prior to proceeding

Parts Sourcing & Inventory Management

  • Source, order, and track OEM and aftermarket parts to support active repair orders and customer requests
  • Maintain accurate parts inventory records and assist with regular stock counts
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely parts availability and competitive pricing
  • Manage core returns, warranty parts, and special-order fulfillment

Technician Liaison & Workflow Coordination

  • Act as the primary communication bridge between clients and service technicians
  • Prioritize and schedule work orders to optimize bay efficiency and technician productivity
  • Clarify client concerns and technical findings to ensure accurate, complete diagnosis and repair

Billing & Upsell Advisory

  • Prepare accurate invoices and process client payments upon service completion
  • Present and recommend maintenance services, upgrades, and performance options aligned with each client’s vehicle and goals
  • Follow up with clients post-service to ensure satisfaction and encourage return visits

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a service advisor or parts advisor role is preferred
  • Familiarity with dealer management systems (e.g., PBS Systems, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of automotive repair processes, OEM parts systems, and common maintenance schedules
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple open repair orders simultaneously
  • Above-average problem-solving skills and sound judgment under pressure
